Oh, i probably should have read the entire description...
@_Connor, yeap, I used that option in photoshop to export the .gif. Camtasia was actually used for recording my screen through the animation process and making the timelapse =]
You know you can use "save for web and devices" to export .gifs from photoshop, right? Unless i'm mis-understanding what camtasia was for?
I used Photoshop for animation and Camtasia for recording. The original version took me about 1 hour to complete, 1 extra hour for the shading (I also tried outlining but it sucked) and 10 to 15 minutes in a third iteration to tweek the brightness and contrast (and now another 5 to correct the skin tone)
Much better than the original, IMHO. I'm not a big fan of single pixel highlights, but other than that, this looks very good to me. Maybe increase the saturation on the skin tone and / or make it slightly darker to separate the skin from the eyes a bit more.
How many hours of work was this, approximately? And what software is that?
Thanks @jok and @Friend =]
I took a long look on your sugestion, @Friend, and got into this updated version. My entry was too washed away amongst the others, thank you for the hint!
im fine with the lack of shading. its the colors that bother me. they don't pop and arent readable. moar contrast, more saturation
Thanks @KitKatFresse and @CELS!
I took your advice and did some shading, CELS. Also edited some frames. Since it's still not approved, I guess it's not cheating...
It's good, but it feels like you stopped halfway through. Why no shading? This could be drastically improved with minimal work.
Really cool. I love smooth little pixel animations and the fact you can create this with two hours work is stunning.
