@orenshtiv: nostalgia? okay, ive never got my own c64 back in the days when they were still on top (im 22 so pretty much an amiga/pc guy), but theres this specific feeling to c64 art (or wide pixel stuff in general) that any other medium does not have. a kind of mystical cord that makes people recollect their past experiences, or get back to the past for a moment. as a natural consequence, there are people who want to evoke this feeling using modern techniques, and there are people willing to indulge in such.

the preview is way better now but still too small I guess. it would be two tads more attractive if youd put some of the faces, or all of them, as a sequence of frames appearing rapidly one by one. it doesnt really matter that much though.

that's an idea, mathias! if only id had it posted in a wip thread before id surely go for it! :) you should try tall pixels some day, its kind of funny when you see all the tricks you have learned before are not applicable in places. again, i had to work simultaneously on tall and normal pixel sizes.

yes, the preview is not really encouraging, it would look better if you had more space to fill with such composition. anyway, on to the piece, i really love the idea! you still keep surprising me with such subtle things! of all those faces I think I match the fourth (1st one in the 2nd row) best. :) love the retro pre-war feel.

very atmospheric although the first plane (the skull) is barely visible, it runs together with the background. you could use a bit more complex color ramps, or define the tones in a more contrasting way. either way, it's a cool picture that deserves highest grades. hope this is not the future we're going to see. . . :) big up mate!

mysle, ze pod uwage mozemy wziac obydwie opcje (choc dziewczyna skinheada nie rowna sie moj negatyw), jednak gdyby byla to dziewczyna skina, pewnie dodalbym tam genitiva, czyli 's zaraz po skinhedzie. chcialem napisac cos, w czym zawarlby sie szort mojej ksywki, czyli SKW. generalnie mysle, ze gdybym byl kobieta, chcialbym tak wygladac; tak jak to bylo w zalozeniu tego challenge. nie naleze do zadnej subkultury, choc kiedys przerabialem metalowanie, a pozniej byli ludzie, ktorzy mieli mnie za skina (lysa bania, czesto). jakos tak sie to plecie.

its wonderful in its simplicity; a good example of how the right composition and color choices affect the emotional outcome. one of the best pieces ive seen in months. congrats!

theres something very interesting about this girl; and thought im not a big manga fan myself, this one has easily won my vote. cheers! 

hey thats nice; evidently unfinished though (the background gives you a sensation of watching at a complete piece anyway so i guess its not bad). at the first glance i thought its a kind of optical puzzle, you know, that sort you can see two images in one composition, depending on the focal point. you should make some new pose now, this time the full body, you can do it -- this piece is a proof it will come along nicely!

if only the color was there (and you have a nice field for experimentation), id say it was taken alive from chaos engine. im really in awe watching how meticulously you have rendered the curves (although its pretty small after all). the only thing that bothers me is the complete lack of dithering over the sphere surface -- where the light hits it. looks too sharp as to my liking. please do something bigger now!

hmm im wondering. . . is it a girl or a boy? the nose and the lips would suggest the former, while the blocky jaw and the space under the lips, which i interpret as a soul path, the latter. 

if its not traced over some already existing photo, then youve got my vote; it has that nice 50s horror movie vibe about it. +!
