ooohhh ... i thought you were asking if he used Gimp (like in Pulp fiction) to do the animations.

Also you can use the sprite editor in GameMaker to make the .gif.

i did mention it in the other thread. looking that game (+ chaos engine) up might be worthwhile if u do more monochromatic pictures. http://www.mobygames.com/game/amiga/banshee/screenshots/gameShotId,79111/

yeah, but maybe check the size of the reflected head (and note that things get laterally inverted, so if her hair is bigger on the right hand side (for us) it will be bigger on the right hand side (for us) in the reflection.

btw did u get inspired by the amiga 'banshee' game a little?

puddle lower left: bricks looked rotated 90 degrees, not flipped. not sure what u did with trashcan. if u stuck two together, you wouldn't see the lid of the bottom one.

mirrors are easy. just imagine that the mirror is a window and it looks onto a world exactly the same except flipped where the mirror would be. each object in the reflection is an equal distance from the mirror as the real object is. so in the case of the trashcan (since it sits on the mirror), imagine you glued two trashcans together (one upside down). same with the brick wall. there shouldn't be that angle unless the wall is angled relative to the water.

these rules don't work work mirrors that aren't flat.

that's what i was thinking. had a quick play around maybe the brighest don't overlap with darkest at all (foregorund ramp closer to green on hue slider).

http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e199/sharprm/back-1.png

maybe i should do more of this to learn more about colors. anyone do this as well?

random question: if you were going to recreate this piece as pixel art, would u use color sharing between background (sky, buildings) and the foreground (man, stuff he is standing on)?

grey cat's arms are wrong, should be more like a horse than an elephants bone structure.

is the leg for one of the circular tables too long?

Comment on icon
sharprm @ 11/18/2009 11:50:54 PM commented on Hexod

surely it would be possible to get the same pallete, same shape, try a range of fills and reproduce the result (thereby showing it wasn't done by hand)?

i didn't look at the dithering and i don't know much about dithering or automatic dithering.

minor thing but techniucally painting that is reflected should be moved down and to the left so that it is equal distance from mirror and real painting is. looks good i like pink girl best.

no the death certificate is a sick joke not an actual request.

However, if you accuse people of color reducing/using tools and demand proof then it would be better if you had a squeaky clean record yourself. Using the standard you applied to the pandafox guy, this is a trace until you prove otherwise and your reaction suggests you are 'covering something up'.

big jump in quality from avatar and obscure reference suggests this is a trace. why can't we see a WIP?

since most comments are condolences, should you at least show a death certificate?
