I realised not too long ago of the crappyness of my old grunt lizard guy. At the time he represented my max abilities with pixelart (about 3 years ago). I figured I may as well revisit this guy and make it up to par with my current abilities. 12 colours + trans. 5 colours reused in both colour ramps. One of my favorite pieces on the site, hands down. I love the texture and shading. The only criticism I have is the positioning of the tail. I feel it would look a bit better if moved down and to the left by a good deal. At the moment, it looks a bit like it's coming out of his side more than the center of his back (albeit bent to the right).

That aside, it's such a superb piece.

I like this one better, honestly. They are both good, though! Your original seems like something in a comic book, while this looks more like true pixel art.

Well, this is gorgeous. The shapes, forms and colours are awesome - and i think the character concept is brilliant. This is a serious improvement on your previous one, which to be honest i don't like half as much. Really shows how much you've improved.

Your palettes have really improved, Indy. You integrate all the different pieces and forms much better now than before. Textutring is tops.. I'd like to see you vary the range of highlights and shadows used on different body parts at different height levels. This really sticks out to me looking at how skillful you are in other areas.

Love both versions. This is more polished, no doubt, but even the old was real close to perfect.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that I don't actually prefer this one over the old one. I think it's because this ogre is far softer, whereas the other one had two solid fists and a lot tougher-looking, in general.

SO, in my opinion, soften up on the skin cremes there, grunt ol' chap.
