An article about animating pixel art (specifically for videogames). It covers various subjects, including:

    - Choosing the right frame rate,
    - Using motion streaks,
    - Basic physics/Ragdoll stuff to make your animation live,
    - Rotating your sprite in a non-jaggy way (e.g. a back flip),
    - Two Legged basic walk-cycle,
    - Four Legged in-depth walk-cycle,
    - Some other, more basic stuff.

A great site for flash tutorials, with a couple free ones. I do suggest buying some though, you learn a lot, and the guy is funny.

A great site where you can, post, chat, request, basically anything about animation. Its based on pivot, but if you scroll down, theres plenty of tutorials and artwork using different programs

This is less a tutorial on pixel art, but on how to create realistic explosions.

For that, this tutorial goes very detailed into the phsics of explosion, since it is a flash-based tutorial, you also get to learn a lot about animating a decent explosion, with a little humour.

    highly recommendable
