Make the world your sandwich

News Details

From the site:
"Never before have two pieces of bread been simultaneously placed on the ground directly opposite each other on the globe, thus making an Earth Sandwch.  The fact that the Earth has never been a sandwich is probably why things are so f*cked up"

Sounds like a great idea...  Except it seems almost everywhere you try to do it, the other slice would end up a little soggy in the ocean.

Who says this hasn't already happened? I mean... how many people drop a a slice of bread every day? I think there's a pretty big chance the earth has been a sandwich at least once.

@Saboteur- If you out in in geo syncronous orbit, like the clark belt, it would go at the same speed of the earth and stay on one place.

bread ball! I think the piece of bread wouldnt fall quickly, however once there would be a break (crack) in the bread orb it would collapse. first - How would we harvest energgy with it? Becausee it would travel at the same speed as earth...

What -I- want to know is this:
If you were to completely surround the world in a spherical piece of bread, would gravity and a sphere's structure hold it floating above the earth's surface? If so, a lot of important questions could be raised, such as:
Would the bread orbit at the same speed as earth? If not, couldn't we harvest the hell outta some energy with it?
How transparent IS bread? Would the world be pretty much black? Could you live on the outside crust of the bread?
Could terrorists begin chewing a hole in the bread to disrupt balance and cause the bread to come crashing down?
What WOULD you do with a moldy piece of bread bigger than the earth itself (HOLY CRAP, ISTVAN, THIS SOUNDS LIKE A JOB FOR THE BLACK HOLE!)
And most importantly, what the hell would you call it, for it most certainly is not a sandwich.

Mine would be in New Zeland! Yours should be a little bit upwards I think...

I think there should be a scientific expedition to make the world a sandwich... I mean this could be a breakthough...
