Does the whole figure have to be illuminated from below or maybe only it's face? Like, a guy is holding a lamp or whatever. I've already started my entry, and my hands are tied until i get an answer :D

no, i think rotating the canvas shouldn't be a problem

just checked my calender and unless i find time to do something for this challenge at the breakpoint demoparty (thus: drunk =), it seems that i can't attend my own challenge.. have to finish that other entry this week (damn, knowing the rules i should have illuminated these two guys and their car from below =)
