PJ addons and more by skeddles and Yanrishatum
2 NEW addons just added !!!
PJer skeddles has created some PJ addons (usercripts) to enhance the PJ gallery.
For now all these are Firefox only but will add other browsers in the future.
All addons/scripts HERE - Main site with other good stuff HERE
Addons (scripts):
PixelJoint More Emotes HERE
The script you’ve been waiting for! This adds more emotes for you to use anywhere on PJ. Over 350 new emotes by 8 artists, and the PJ originals (by Pie) are still available as well.
PixelJoint Better Rating Buttons HERE
This script adds bigger, prettier and better rating buttons. Restyled as stars. They are easier to see, easier to click, and are filled with super pixel art goodness.
PixelJoint Big Random Button HERE
This script adds a button right below the ratings on a piece that when clicked, will bring you to another random piece. Great for seeing old, unfound treasures or getting your rating count up.
PixelJoint Big Piece Scrollbars (The Manupix Feature) HERE
Description: This script adds scrollbars to all Pixel Joint pieces, including pieces that are too big normally, and pieces that have been zoomed using the zoom button. No more getting cut off!
NEW!!! PixelJoint Inspector Link HERE
This script adds a link to inspect any piece on PixelJoint using Yanrishatum‘s PJ Image Specs tool.
---
Pixely Pixeljoint HERE
Simple extension for Chrome, that removes blurry pixels on PJ. Includes animated gif support and works on both the forum and the gallery. (animated .webp not supported)
Yanrishatum has also enhanced Blueberry_pie Image Specs Tool in case you have missed it HERE
This is not the same as the Image Spec Tool listed on the top menu. Bookmark it.

NEW!!! PixelJoint Inspector Link HERE
This script adds a link to inspect any piece on PixelJoint using Yanrishatum‘s PJ Image Specs tool.
NEW!!! Pixezoom HERE
For those, who watch pixels not only on PJ, and hate that blur. :) Uses same codebase as Pixely Pixeljoint in fact. Sadly, integrating this codebase to my Image Specs Tool to fix crash on big gifs is very hard task, and I don't have much free time.
Speaking of pixel art scaling, I made a thing last night to easily convert resized image elements to crisp-looking canvases. It needs a couple things before it would be good as a userscript (resizing canvases and binding events on resize), but it's decent for portfolios.
It's a temporary fix until the image-rendering changes are adopted, and it's good because users won't have to install anything.
oh, it appears that even when I switch over to firefox to try out the extensions, they claim they "cannot be installed because the file is corrupt" - I tried both the unblurring pixels, the star shaped ratings and the random button extensions. It installed on my chrome browser but obviously did nothing :P
edit: no worries, found a different way to get them working in chrome :D
For Opera browser

• Pixelize is a Safari Browser Extension that toggles nearest-neighbour interpolation on images. Useful when using browser's built-in zoom (ctrl+ or cmd+) to enlarge pixel art images. A button in the toolbar then allows you to turn nearest-neighbor interpolation on and off. Created by Retronator
• New feature on Chrome Canary that fixes blurred pixels. Applying "image-rendering: pixelated" to the tag that contains the pixelart piece makes it pixelated, even when scaled up or down. You can check more about this here: [link] Only available on a dev version of Chrome, but it's in the HTML5/CSS3 spec and will soon enough land on all major browsers. Found by Alarka
Great ideas guys, I'll look into them when I have some time.
Oh noes...what do we do when author chooses acid green or pink for a BG color
I tried to come up with some ideas for more PJ scripts, if anyone feels like making them:
FIXED public queue link. Change the link in the menu from http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixels/icon_queue.asp to http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixels/icon_queue.asp?q=1&pg=1 so that you never get to see the "empty queue bug"
Chatterbox link back in menu (under community)
Front page changed to not show HoF. Perhaps Monthly top instead (can be loaded from http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixels/new_icons.asp?ob=search&dosearch=1&d=2/21/2015 ) or some random art from last months top...
Intergrated forum. Forum displays under standard PJ header/menu
Fullview image on mouseover preview - similar to on the voting page... In the gallery pages there already is a mouseove popup, it could appear in there
Vote reminder. If you havn't already voted for the weekly challenge, put a huge voting button somewhere. Once you've voted it can be small and hidden again.
Browse ALL the challenges! - on the challenge page, create links for all the past challenges, not like the current list that only shows the past 100 or so. Preferably with dates, and in a browsable way..
It might be able to create a "collect" feature? Like Deviantart/youtube etc? Favorite, but into different groups/folders. Group information could be stored locally on the users computer perhaps..?
Replace the comment WYSIWYG editor. This one is weird, doesn't allow my ff to do spelling control as right click functionality has been altered.
Well, that was all from the top of my head I guess..
Updated extension (update will be online in about 1 hour). Problem must be fixed right now. (added realigning callbacks for page loading, in case some other extensions edit DOM after my content-script loading)
Pixely PixelJoint just didn't designed in mind, that some other script will edit DOM after extension will be loaded. That's why preview image position was broken.
CRISPY PIXELS
Anyhow, I really love the new extensions, though I choose to only use 2, the Pixely Pixeljoint one and the PixelJoint Big Random Button (the latter required installing the Tampermonkey extension in order to enable it).
The second extension kind of "breaks" the preview image part though: http://i.imgur.com/jxOZrmI.png (Google Chrome won't let me put the image itself into this because I cannot right click a smiley so I can change its url ;_;)
Somewhat related to this http://updates.html5rocks.com/2015/01/pixelated
Yeah I could have spent more time stylizing the button, but in the end this one will match every theme, and it will only be there if the user explicitly installs it, so you should know what you're getting into.
It does give you unrated pieces, just not from that timeframe.
I think it would be possible, but I'd have to download the chatterbox page and analyse it and then redirect you, so it would be a little slow, plus twice as much load on pj.
As for the random button, but I don't know if this is possible: I would really like a random button that leads only to unrated pixel art from the last 2 months! A bit like the random pixel art in the chatterbox sidebar...
Added the emotes, scrollbars and inspect button; thanks a bunch guys, they work wonders!
yaaaaas boo
one complaint. the RANDOM add on is a great idea, but no offence, it's ugly. maybe a more cohesive design that dosn't distract from the art? something that a stranger can see and understand without first wondering 'huh i wonder why every page says RANDOM below each piece. i wonder if you can click it'
Just updated my extension - Pixezoom. For those, who watch pixels not only on PJ, and hate that blur. :) Uses same codebase as Pixely Pixeljoint in fact. Sadly, integrating this codebase to my Image Specs Tool to fix crash on big gifs is very hard task, and I don't have much free time.
There is an extension:
chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/pixezoom-pixel-perfect-zo/hapihddkcfbbcbnncecmoojbmcefgndg
I feel like we need an extension that makes the zooming in blurry for Firefox. Us Firefox users have been missing out on the blurry goodness
Praise the sun!
Oh my gosh! That's AWESOME!!!
Thank you for doing that!!
Here ya go Jinn: http://samkeddy.com/userscripts/#PixelJoint-Inspector-Link
New script: PixelJoint Inspector Link
This script adds a link to inspect any piece on PixelJoint using Yanrishatum‘s PJ Image Specs tool.
Little known bug is that the 'better rating button' is even better when used on my gallery...GO!
Ohno, that big random button might encourage people to get ahead of me on ratings! I can't lose my #36 spot :p
Seriously though, these are awesome addons/fixes.
The 'better rating buttons' remind me of scribblenauts :D
oh wait I mean
Who would make those fixes? When you need a winter coat, and you're not a tailor, all you can do is sew on patches.
Would be awesome to have a "spec" button on every Piece page too, maybe it's doable?
That google chrome one is something I've been wanting for a fair while now. great submissions :D
Why not fix them in pixeljoint website itself?
Why isn't the blurry zoom fixed on PJ by default yet? Is there no interest in making PJ better? It's been the same for years
